A contract for mooring equipment for a pipelaying barge marks Cargotec’s successful entry to the Vietnamese offshore market

In July this year, Cargotec won a contract from the joint stock company Vinh Nam (VAM JSC)/TECMACH to supply mooring equipment outfits for Vietsovpetro’s 110m-long by 30.5m-breadth pipelaying crane barge, Con Son. The 1969-built vessel is currently undergoing a conversion at Dung Quat Shipbuilding Industry Co Ltd.

“The signing of this maiden contract in Vietnam demonstrates our client’s confidence in our capability,” says Gavin Lim, Cargotec's director of sales for towing and mooring solutions. “It also marks Cargotec’s successful entry to the Vietnamese offshore market.”

As part of the conversion project, Cargotec will supply eight mooring winches complete with local and remote controls, tension and length-monitoring systems, hydraulic power packs, sheaves, and fairleads. The mooring equipment is scheduled for delivery at the beginning of 2012 and will be manufactured at Cargotec’s facility for offshore load handling in Singapore.

InterMoor Clinches Mooring System Offshore Vietnam

- InterMoor Clinches Mooring System Offshore Vietnam

Thursday, September 01, 2011
Aceton Group Ltd.

InterMoor, an Acteon company, was awarded a prelay mooring system by Petro Vietnam Technical Services (PTSC) for a project offshore Vietnam, announced InterMoor President Tom Fulton.

The prelaid mooring spreads were installed in July for the two offshore Vietnam locations. The moorings for each location consisted of eight conventional lines with insert wire, grounded chain and eight 12T Stevpris NG Anchors. In total, InterMoor successfully prelaid 29 anchors including 13 piggybacks in less than two weeks on both locations.

InterMoor worked in cooperation with a local Vietnam company, Thiennam Offshore Services, who chartered DOF Subsea's vessel, the Skandi Hercules, to perform the mooring installations.

The PVD 5 Tender-assisted Drilling Rig will arrive on location in October 2011 and be moored to the prelaid spread. Water depths at the locations range from 118m (387 ft.) to 135m (443 ft.).

"This is our first project offshore Vietnam and we had the full support of PTSC for the entire project duration," said Rick Luck, General Manager for InterMoor's Singapore office. "This project offers InterMoor the opportunity to further expand in this region, while continuing its focus on international growth."

Delmar Completes Mooring Installation at WhoDat Field

- Delmar Completes Mooring Installation at WhoDat Field

Friday, August 19, 2011
Delmar Systems Inc.

Delmar Systems has completed preset mooring systems installation and facility connection operations of the Mississippi Canyon 547 "A" floating production facility as part of the WhoDat Field development for LLOG Deepwater Development Company, L.L.C.

Delmar provided project engineering for anchor/mooring system design, fabrication oversight, installation engineering, operation procedures, and installation services for the facility's installation. Delmar also assisted LLOG and the facility designer/builder EXMAR in certification verification authority (CVA) review and regulatory approval for the mooring system.

In addition, Delmar procured, marshaled, and stored the twelve leg suction anchor, chain, polyester, chain mooring system at Delmar's state-of-the-art 11-acre Fourchon dockside facility. The mooring legs were connected to the pre-installed suction anchors using Delmar's patented subsea mooring connector. The Delmar subsea connector allows the mooring line to be easily connected to each preset suction anchor using a conventional anchor handling vessel (AHV) as opposed to larger, more expensive construction vessels that are normally used for permanent installations.

Delmar preset all twelve suction anchor mooring systems using a single conventional AHV. Once the facility arrived on location, Delmar connected the facility to the preset mooring systems using two conventional AHVs and supported by a field ROV support vessel. Facility connection operations were efficiently completed in seven days.

"Delmar was able to use existing contracted AHVs to drive maximum efficiency and cost savings for LLOG. We completed the project under budget and under the allocated time estimates. By making the best use of vessel tonnage and Delmar's proven experience with AHVs, Delmar completed the project safely, without any accidents, injuries, or associated lost time," said Brady Como, Delmar's Executive Vice President.

Delmar Awarded Mooring Contract by Noble

- Delmar Awarded Mooring Contract by Noble

Wednesday, August 03, 2011
Delmar Systems Inc.

Delmar Systems was awarded a contract by Noble Energy EG, Ltd. to supply an eight-leg preset mooring system for use in Noble Energy's Aseng Development off the coast of Equatorial Guinea, West Africa. Delmar provided Noble Energy a full compliment of
mooring equipment including Delmar's patented OMNI-Max™ anchors and Delmar Subsea Connectors (DSCs). All equipment has been successfully delivered to Noble Energy EG's yard in Equatorial Guinea.

The patented Delmar OMNI-Max anchor is a gravity-installed vertically loaded anchor (VLA) that offers unique performance characteristics not found in other deepwater anchor foundations. The OMNI-Max anchor is capable of being loaded in any direction 360° around the axis of the anchor. This anchor technology offers a great benefit in the design of mooring systems that reduces risk to subsea infrastructure in the event of station-keeping damage or failure. This proven anchor concept has been deployed and retrieved on over 150 anchor locations.

The Delmar developed and patented DSC is used with MODUs (mobile offshore drilling units) and permanent mooring installations to allow single vessel deployment of anchors and mooring lines. The DSC provides for easy connect/disconnect capability with the use of a standard ROV.

"We are pleased that Noble Energy EG has chosen our mooring technology for their project. Our patented technologies have proven themselves as the safest, most efficient mooring solutions used in the offshore mooring industry," said Delmar's Executive Vice President, Brady Como.

- Galoc JV to Install Improved Mooring at FPSO

Tuesday, July 26, 2011
Otto Energy Ltd.

Otto has continued to focus on its Philippines-based portfolio of high quality exploration assets, complemented by oil production from the Galoc field.

Highlights:
  • Galoc production during the quarter of 618,244 bbl gross of crude oil (116,106 bbl net to Otto), with 88% 12-month rolling uptime for the field
  • Exercise of farm-in option by BHP Billiton in SC55 and Otto (through its wholly-owned subsidiary NorAsian Energy Ltd) lodgement of notice to enter drilling exploration sub-phase
  • Completion of Duhat-1/1A exploration well drilling provides strong support for follow up in SC51
  • Completion of 210 km2 high quality 3D seismic acquisition over Lampos and Lampos South prospects in SC69
  • Galoc joint venture approval in July to install an improved mooring and riser system upgrade for FPSO Rubicon Intrepid, crucial to progressing Phase 2 field development

Production

Since the start-up of production in October 2008, the Galoc oil field has produced a total of 7.54 million barrels of crude oil as of 30th June 2011, and delivered 22 offtakes to refinery customers. As at the end of the June 2011 quarter, the field was producing around 6,750 barrels of oil a day

Otto, through its shareholding in the field operator Galoc Production Company WLL (GPC), has commenced pre-planning activities for the further development of the Galoc field with a decision on Phase 2 due to be taken in early 2012.

Exploration and Development

Interpretation of the recently acquired 3D seismic from Service Contract 55, offshore Palawan, has matured the amplitude-supported Hawkeye prospect and a series of large Nido level carbonate prospects. The permit contains a significant number of high quality, large volume prospects that are being quickly matured for drilling by Otto and its partners. The JV has recently elected to enter the next permit sub-phase which requires a commitment well to be drilled prior to August 2012.

Corporate

The Board is currently finalizing negotiations for the appointment of a new CEO and will advise the market accordingly once completed.
