McDermott International, Inc. announced Monday the results of its 2011 Annual Meeting of Stockholders, held Friday afternoon, May 6, 2011 in Panama City, Panama.

Based on the voting results from the meeting, shareholders re-elected Messrs. John F. Bookout, III, Roger A. Brown, Stephen G. Hanks, D. Bradley McWilliams, Thomas C. Schievelbein and David A. Trice, and elected Stephen M. Johnson and Mary L. Shafer-Malicki to our Board of Directors, all for one-year terms. In addition, shareholders approved the advisory vote on executive compensation, voted on an advisory basis for the Company to hold the advisory vote on the frequency of executive compensation annually, approved the Company's Executive Incentive Compensation Plan for tax deductibility reasons and ratified the appointment of Deloitte & Touche LLP as our independent registered public accounting firm for the year ending December 31, 2011.

As previously disclosed and pursuant to the Company's By-Law requirements, Ronald C. Cambre retired from McDermott's Board of Directors after 11 years of service to the Company, including the last three years as non-executive Chairman. His retirement was effective coincident with the adjournment of the Board of Directors meeting held in connection with the Annual Meeting. Additionally, McDermott announced that the Board of Directors has appointed Stephen M. Johnson as Chairman of the Board and D. Bradley McWilliams as Lead Director of the Board effective coincident with the adjournment of the Board of Directors meeting held in connection with the Annual Meeting.

Additionally, I am honored and humbled from the confidence the Board has placed in me as Chairman and I look forward to working closely with the Board and with Brad McWilliams as Lead Director as we prepare McDermott for our next phase of growth."

Johnson Controls Topped Q2 Estimates, Issued 2011 Revenue Guidance

Johnson Controls (NYSE:JCI) reported Q2 EPS of $0.56, ahead consensus estimates of $0.55 per share. Revenues for the quarter rose 22% year-over-year to $10.1 billion, topping consensus estimates of $9.4 billion.

The company sees 2011 revenues of $39.5 billion, vs. consensus estimates of $38.7 billion.

Stephen A. Roell, Johnson Controls Chairman and Chief Executive Officer said, "The second quarter results show solid momentum across all three of our businesses, with each achieving significantly higher revenues and profitability. The backlog in Building Efficiency grew to record levels as a result of continued market share gains and our strong position in the emerging markets. Power Solutions benefitted from aftermarket battery demand that exceeded our expectations and Automotive Experience revenues outpaced industry production with the launch of 18 major new programs."

General Motors Q1 Sales Up 24.1% YoY (GM)



General Motors Co (NYSE:GM) reported Friday that its U.S. sales rose 9.6% year-over-year in March, to 206,621 vehicles.

First quarter sales rose at a blistering 24.1% year-over-year pace, to 592,545 vehicles.

Don Johnson, GM's vice president of U.S. sales operations, said, "Our plan was to get out of the gates quickly in the first quarter and we succeeded."

Chevy's Cruze sedan performed especially well, with sales increasing 287% over the compact car it replaced.

Shares of General Motors are trading down 0.16% at $30.98.
