BGP Crew 8652 announced the successful completion of the S53 3D TZ seismic survey for Saudi Aramco with a total workload of 1876 km2 3D, as well as a remarkable achievement of 3.5 million man-hour without LTI.

The project area, located on the east coast of Saudi Arabia, comprises terrains of desert, Gobi, seasonal lakes, and shallow water, along with infrastructures of industrial facilities, airport, oilfields, wharfs, offshore exploration platforms, plus convoluted subsea pipelines throughout the entire area. The complex surface conditions, coupled with a large number of workers and equipments had presented unparalleled challenge to engender a safe operation while meeting the client expectations.

The S53 project team integrated three different types of energy sources being vibroseis, explosives and air guns, to best accommodate different working terrains, and yet it is able to complete the project in 18 months almost five months ahead of schedule.

Without saying, this extraordinary accomplishment is the synergetic effort from all members of Crew 8652, supported by the unwavering commitment from BGP headquarters.

Range announced that it has reached total depth in its Ross 3H exploratory well, the Company's first horizontal drilling venture. Located in Red River County, Texas, the well reached a total depth of 8,900 ft (2,715m), with a horizontal section of approximately 3,400 ft (1,040m).

Based upon open-hole logs, samples, and consistent oil shows during drilling operations from both the vertical pilot hole and horizontal leg, Range and its partners have successfully run and cemented in place a production liner to target depth, with completion operations having begun. Once fracking has been completed, Range will be able to accurately report on flow rates and update reserves.

Added Pete Landau, Range Executive Director, "The Ross 3H represents yet another milestone for the Company as we and our joint venture partners continue to apply the most cost-effective oil field technology available to our exploration and development programs. Consistent with our recently announced acquisitions in Trinidad, the East Texas Cotton Valley play represents a low-cost opportunity to build our portfolio of crude oil reserves in a period of strong commodity prices."

Breitling announced that the Breitling-Turner #1 in Hardeman County, Texas is being completed as a possible oil and gas producer after reaching a total vertical depth of 7,900 feet.

The well was subsequently logged by Halliburton and based on analysis by Breitling's engineers and geologists as well as Halliburton's analysis of the Turner #1 logs. Chris Faulkner, CEO of Breitling Oil and Gas, said, "We have a couple of good-looking zones in this well and both had good porosity and permeability, and we look forward to another successful completion."
