Nostra Terra announced that the initial horizontal well in the Nesbitt Prospect Unit, located in the Woodlawn Field in Texas, has been completed. The production facilities have been built and the well has been put into production by New Century Exploration Inc.

Nostra Terra has a 3% working interest in the Nesbitt Prospect Unit, located in the Woodlawn Field in Texas, which is also operated by New Century Exploration, Inc.

The Company will provide an update on 30-day production figures in the future.

Matt Lofgran, Chief Executive Officer of Nostra Terra, commented, "This marks the second well we've put into production this month. We have additional projects funded and in various stages of development, and anticipate bringing on additional wells this year where we own a larger interest."

Two leaks have occurred on an undersea pipeline at Shell's Gannet Alpha platform in recent days, the Anglo-Dutch major confirmed Tuesday, but said it believed both come from the same initial source.

"The leak source remains the same. The initial release path was stopped on Thursday, however the oil found a second pathway to the sea," Shell said in a statement.

"We believe now that the flow is coming from a relief valve adjacent to the original leak and from the same source," said Shell. "Once we've confirmed this we will then develop a series of mitigation options to stop this leak. There is no new leak."

Shell said Monday it estimates 216 metric tons, or 1,300 barrels, of oil has already spilled into the sea. This would make the spill the U.K.'s largest since 2000.

Earlier Tuesday, a senior Shell executive was cited by local media as saying a second leak is continuing to spill crude into the North Sea after the main leak discovered last Wednesday was effectively stemmed.

Shell said the second leak took longer to find because of its awkward position "amid complex subsea infrastructure."

Triple Diamond Energy put the new Murray #14-3 well into production on Thursday, June 30. Located in Garvin County, Oklahoma, the well represents the company’s first success using a technique called Seismic Geophysical Survey Testing.

Seismic methods are the most widely employed of all geophysical methods used in petroleum exploration, as they provide highly accurate renditions of the geometry of subsurface layers. However, the costs associated with seismic methods are much higher than other types of geophysical surveys, requiring a substantial investment for companies interested in using the technology.

“This was a large seismic project, but the results back up our geophysicists’ theories on the area, and really validate what we’re doing,” explains President Chris Jent of Triple Diamond Energy.

The company finished strong in 2010 and has continued the trend throughout the first half of 2011. Thanks to impressive numbers and streamlined operations, TDE is zeroing in on achieving impressive goals of growth for this year. In keeping with this success, the company projects Murray #14-3 well will have a twenty-four month payback.

South Africa's government placed a moratorium on licences for fracking, a technique used to extract gas in the Karoo Basin region, pending further research.

Hydraulic fracturing, also known as fracking, sees a pressurised mixture of water, sand and chemicals pushed down drill holes, to explore for and then extract shale gas.

Shell is among several major energy companies keen on exploring the Karoo, a semi-arid region in the west of the country, using fracking.

Green groups worry about the effects of the technique, which could worsen air and water quality.

A government statement, announcing the moratorium, said the mineral resources department along with the trade and industry and science and technology departments, would lead research into the technique.

"Cabinet has made it very clear that (a) clean environment together with all the ecological aspects will not be compromised," government spokesman Jimmy Manyi was quoted by the SAPA news agency as saying.
