The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted OMV Norge a drilling permit for well 6407/5-2 S in the Norwegian Sea, cf. Section 8 of the Resource Management Regulations.

Well 6407/5-2 S will be drilled from the Borgland Dolphin drilling facility at position 64°35'4.4" north and 7°36'48.7" east after completing drilling of wildcat well 31/8-1 for E.On Ruhrgas Norge in production license 416.

The drilling program for wellbore 6407/5-2S concerns the drilling of a wildcat well in production license 471. OMV Norge AS is the operator with an ownership interest of 50 percent. The other licensees are Norwegian Energy Company ASA (30 percent) and Sagex Petroleum Norge AS (20 percent). The area in the license consists of the blocks 6407/2 and 6407/5. The well will be drilled about ten kilometers west of the Mikkel field.

Production license 471 was awarded on February 29, 2008, in APA 2007. This is the first well to be drilled in the license.

The permit is contingent upon the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities prior to commencing the drilling activity.

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has granted Statoil Petroleum AS a drilling permit for well 16/7-10, cf. Section 8 of the Resource Management Regulations.

Well 16/7-10 will be drilled by the drilling facility Ocean Vanguard at position 58º 29' 56.56" N, 02º 01' 31.42" E, following completion of wildcat well 30/11-8 A for Statoil in production license 035.

The drilling program for well 16/7-10 concerns the drilling of a wildcat well in production license 569. Statoil is the operator with a 59.6 percent ownership share. The other licensees are ExxonMobil with 30.4 percent and Total with 10 percent.

The area in the license comprises the southwestern section of block 16/4. The well will be drilled about 10 kilometers northeast of the Volve field in the central section of the North Sea.

Production license 569 was awarded on February 4, 2011 (APA 2010). This is the first well to be drilled in the license area.

The permit is contingent upon the operator having secured all other permits and consents required by other authorities before the drilling starts.

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has granted Wintershall Norge ASA a drilling permit for well 35/12-4 S, cf. Section 8 of the Resource Management Regulations.

Well 35/12-4 S will be drilled from the Songa Delta drilling facility at position 61°11’6.79” north and 03°41’29.48” east following completion of drilling of wildcat well 6507/8-8 for Nexen Exploration Norge AS in production license 434.

The drilling program for well 35/12-4 S concerns the drilling of a wildcat well in production license 378. Wintershall Norge ASA is the operator with a 45 per cent ownership interest. The other licensees are Talisman Energy Norge AS with 35 percent and Premier Oil Norge AS with 20 percent.

The area in this permit consists of block 35/12 as well as parts of block 36/10. The well was drilled 2.4 kilometers northeast of the 35/12-2 oil discovery well (Grosbeak) in the northern part of the North Sea.

Production license 378 was awarded on January 6, 2006 (APA 2005). This is third well to be drilled in this license.

The permit is contingent upon the operator having secured all other permits and consents required by other authorities before the drilling starts.
