Cooper announced that the Germein-1 exploration well in PEL 92 spudded at 0330 hours Wednesday August 31, 2011. The surface hole has been drilled to 600 meters and preparations are currently underway to run the 9⅝” surface casing.

Germein-1 is located 1.9 km south of the Butlers oil field. The well's primary objective is the Namur Sandstone, which is the oil reservoir in the nearby oil fields. The Germein prospect is estimated to contain 0.211 million barrels of Prospective Resources (P50). The well will be drilled to a total depth of about 1,410 meters and is expected to take about 10 days to drill and evaluate.

Cooper Energy announced that Butlers-3 was drilled to a total depth of 1,365 meters and wireline logs have confirmed that it has intersected a 3 meter oil column in excellent quality Namur sandstone reservoir. This result confirms the northern extent of the field, as mapped. Butlers-3 is the fourth well in the 2011 PEL92 area drilling campaign and is the second development well of the Butlers oil field.

The well has been cased and suspended, and the rig is preparing to move. The well will be tied-back to the Butlers production facilities at a later date and will provide an additional drainage point for the Namur oil reservoir to the northwest of the Butlers-1 discovery well.

The impact on production rates and reserves will be assessed once the full results of the current Butlers appraisal/development drilling program have been evaluated and production rates from the new development wells have been established.

The next well in the eleven well drilling program is Parham-1, an exploration well located about 1 km to the southwest of the Butlers-1 discovery well. The details pertaining to Parham-1 will be announced when the well spuds.

Cooper announced that the Butlers-3 appraisal/development well in PEL92 spudded at 3:30 pm April 19, 2011. The current operation is drilling ahead in the surface hole at 395 meters.

Butlers-3 is the second appraisal/development well on the Butlers Oil Field in the current PEL92 back to back eleven well drilling program and follows the successful appraisal of the northern extent of the field by Butlers-2. Butlers-3 is targeting the Namur oil reservoir 0.3km to the northwest of the Butlers-1 discovery well. The well will be drilled to a total depth of about 1,360 meters and is expected to take 9 days to drill and complete.

The Butlers oil field is currently producing approximately 1,400 barrels of oil per day from the Namur reservoir via the Butlers-1 well. It is expected that additional Butlers' development wells will more efficiently drain the field and accelerate production. The drilling will be accompanied by an upgrade of the Butlers surface facilities to handle the increased production. Oil production from Butlers is exported via the pipeline to Tantanna and then exported to Moomba.

Beach had its third success from as many wells in its 16 well operated program in the Western Flank of the Cooper Basin with the Butlers-2 well encountering a five meter oil column. The Butlers-2 well is located 950 meters NE of the Butlers-1 discovery well.

The Butlers-2 oil column was encountered in the Namur Sandstone reservoir and was consistent with pre-drill expectations. The large step-out will result in an upgrade of recoverable oil reserves from the Butlers Field of approximately 1.5 million barrels (gross), subject to remapping and a detailed review of the well data. Beach will announce a firmer reserve assessment as appropriate data becomes available.

Butlers-2 is is expected to be on-line around mid-July after completion of the new Butlers oil facility. Oil from the Butlers Field is transported from the Western Flank by flowline to Moomba. The success at Butlers-2 is likely to lead to additional development drilling in the Butlers Field. The Ensign#30 rig will now be moved to the Butlers-3 development well location which is located about 320 meters to the NW of Butlers-1.

Cooper reported that the Butlers-2 appraisal/development well in PEL92 spudded at Friday, April 8, 2011. The current operation is drilling the surface hole.

Butlers-2 is the first appraisal/development well on the Butlers Oil Field and the third well in the current drilling program and follows the recent successes at Parsons-3 and Parsons-4.
Butlers-2 is targeting the Namur oil reservoir and is to be located 0.95km to the northeast of the Butlers-1 discovery well.

The well will be drilled to a total depth of about 1,360 meters and is expected to take 9 days to drill and complete.

The Butlers oil field is currently producing nearly 1,400 barrels of oil per day from the Butlers-1 discovery well in the Namur reservoir. It is expected that additional Butlers development wells will more efficiently develop the field and will accelerate production.

The drilling will be accompanied by an upgrade of the Butlers surface facilities to handle the increased production. Oil production from Butlers is exported via the pipeline to Tantanna.
