Bristow has appointed David Laskowski to oversee its operations in the busy northern North Sea energy sector. Based in Aberdeen, Scotland, Laskowski will serve as Development Manager responsible for day-to-day management of up to 250,000 passenger movements annually through the Integrated Aviation Consortium (IAC) contract. He will play a key role in ensuring delivery of Bristow's Target Zero program to achieve zero accidents, complaints and downtime.

Laskowski's experience includes management roles in safety, commercial and helicopter operations. He began his aviation career in his native Louisiana, obtaining his pilot's licence while at university pursuing a Bachelors of Science degree in Professional Aviation and Aviation Management. He joined Bristow in 2001 as a Facilities and Special Projects Officer in the Gulf of Mexico. He served as Base Manager of Bristow's airfield at Patterson, Louisiana before becoming a Safety Case Manager, travelling to Bristow operations in Alaska, Aberdeen in Scotland, Trinidad and Mexico. Most recently he served as Regional Sales Manager for Bristow's North American Business Unit.

Fiona MacLeod, Commercial Manager – Europe, who previously held responsibility for the northern North Sea sector, will continue to oversee existing client activity in central North Sea and expand to the Baltic region.

Mike Imlach, Bristow's European Operations Director said, "David's appointment means that we now have an executive dedicated solely to the management and development of our Northern North Sea business and in the Shetland Basin.

"Not only will this enhance our service to our IAC partners; it also will allow us to grow our business in the expanding markets in Denmark and the Baltic regions."

Bristow Helicopters announced its intent to offer the British Government a confident and assured solution for the new UK interim Search and Rescue (SAR) contract which is due to be launched following the collapse of the £6 billion SAR-H program.

Secretary of State for Transport, Philip Hammond, announced in the House of Commons on Monday, July 11, that a tender will be issued for the interim period. The contract is expected to run for up to six years until the long-term future provision of such services are fully considered.

Bristow originally held the UK SAR service contract for over three decades until 2007; during this period Bristow aircrews amassed over 11,500 SAR missions. With full desire to regain this contract, Bristow hopes to inject confidence into the Government and local communities through solid partnerships and a value for money solution which allows this vital public service to continue uninterrupted.

Richard Burman, Bristow Helicopters' Managing Director, said, "Bristow has a long and distinguished record in SAR with the Maritime Coastguard Agency and we would be delighted to service the contract again."

The existing five-year contract was extended after a bid competition for another five-year term, which commences in early 2013, with the option to extend it for an additional three periods of one year each. Bristow will provide two dedicated Sikorsky S-92 large helicopters operating from our Sola base in Stavanger, Norway beginning in March 2013.

Statoil has awarded Bristow Norway a new contract for offshore helicopter services running from Stavanger Airport, Norway. The estimated value of the contract is over NOK 1 billion.

All installations with helicopter flights from Stavanger will be served under this contract. Statoil's helicopter flights from Stavanger go to the Sleipner, Draupner, Volve and Glitne fields in the North Sea.

The contract covers the use of two dedicated Sikorsky S92 helicopters.

Bristow currently holds the contract for these flights, using the same type of helicopter.

Both helicopters will be upgraded to the latest standard prior to the commencement of the new contract.

"Statoil has undertaken a large-scale upgrade of our helicopter park in recent years, using the latest proven technological solutions. Well suited for offshore flights this type of helicopter will bring our employees offshore in a safe and secure manner," said Jannicke Hilland, senior vice president of joint operations on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) in Statoil.

The contract duration is for five years, coupled with the possibility of three one-year options. Planned start-up is in March 2013.

"There is increasing competition within helicopter service, which we look upon as a very positive development. This deal is based on competition and secures helicopter capacity for Statoil for many years to come," said Gunn Vik, who heads up procurement for operations and maintenance in Statoil.

Statoil has contracts in effect with both Bristow Norway and CHC Norway for helicopter services on the NCS. Helicopter types S92 and Eurocopter EC225 are used for such flights from a total of six helicopter bases located on the Norwegian coast – from Hammerfest in the north to Stavanger in the south.
